About Anthropic35BCompute
Anthropic reportedly agreed to buy some $35B of compute from Nvidia-backed cloud Lambda to expand capacity for Claude, part from Hut 8's BeaconPoint campus in Texas. Hut 8 disclosed two 15-year leases covering 704MW, base value near $19.6B, but hasn't said how much ties to the deal. Financing is growing complex: Google TPUs, Broadcom chip financing, lease guarantees. Into the IPO, the question isn't just revenue and valuation: can enterprise growth cover long-term compute, leases and funding.

Anthropic has signed a cloud-computing deal worth $35 billion with Nvidia-backed cloud provider Lambda, with Nvidia, $NVDA, itself holding the lease on the data center, per WSJ

Approaching 1 billion people use @ChatGPT every week, and OpenAI is still one of the most valuable private companies in the world.
$ORBS has invested approximately $90 million indirectly, through SPVs, for exposure to @OpenAI.

Anthropic's new $35B Lambda contract puts real end-customer revenue behind Nvidia's financing lane.
$NVDA $218, -1% pre-market; $QQQ $710, -1%; $SOXX $504, -1%. The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 that Anthropic signed a $35B cloud-computing agreement with Lambda for a Texas project, and Reuters said the site covers 350 MW in Nueces County with Nvidia holding the lease and supplying the chips.
That is the missing step the market did not have in Saturday's Lambda debt post. The debate is no longer whether Lambda can raise GPU money. It now has a disclosed frontier-model customer contract behind the capacity.
The value stack is also much richer than a powered-shell lease. Hut 8 said on July 20, 2026 that its second 352 MW Beacon Point lease took campus base-term contract value to $19.6B, or $28M per MW. Anthropic's reported $35B agreement works out to $100M per MW. That spread says the economics sit in scarce GPU cloud capacity, rack integration, and Nvidia-backed supply, not only the real estate.
The tape is still treating that complexity as a financing-quality question. $MRVL $205, $SNDK $1,521, and $CRWV $83 are weaker than $NVDA this morning even after the new contract detail. Demand still screens real. The open question is how much of the economics sits with Nvidia through chips, lease control, and any revenue-share or credit support that has not been fully disclosed.
What would change the read is cleaner disclosure on Lambda's unit economics or a cash-session reversal where financing-sensitive AI infra starts outperforming direct chip and memory exposure instead of lagging it.

Anthropic has signed a $35 billion cloud deal with Nvidia-backed Lambda, and Nvidia itself will hold the lease on the Texas data center.
Hut 8 is building the site. Lambda will install Nvidia chips, while Nvidia has already secured the capacity and invested in Lambda.
Earlier in August, it reportedly signed another $45 billion capacity deal with Nvidia-backed Nscale. That is $80 billion in reported cloud commitments in a single month.
Lets hope that means more inference and higher weekly rates. (one can dream, right?)
