About RevolutLaunchesEURR
EURR's public issuance began Aug 20, and Revolut began a phased rollout to eligible users in Denmark, Poland and Portugal on Aug 26. Stripe-owned Bridge Building legally issues the euro stablecoin, which is redeemable 1:1 for euros on Ethereum and Polygon. Early reserve data showed ~€374 in supply and cash, only a test snapshot. Whether Revolut can turn its 80M+ retail users and 16M crypto users into trading, transfer and payment demand will determine if EURR is more than an in-app feature.

EURR begins with distribution, not scale. Public issuance started Aug 20, followed by Revolut's phased rollout to eligible users in Denmark, Poland and Portugal on Aug 26. Bridge Building legally issues the stablecoin, redeemable 1:1 for euros on Ethereum and Polygon.
The early reserve snapshot of roughly 374 euros confirms little beyond testing. The real signal will be whether Revolut can convert its 80M-plus retail users and 16M crypto users into repeat trading, transfer and payment activity. Reach creates an unusually strong launch channel, but utility must still earn demand. Not advice, just analysis.

A neobank does not have to become a stablecoin issuer to ship its own stablecoin.
Revolut's EURR is an e-money token issued by Bridge Building S.A., a MiCA CASP and EMI regulated by the CSSF in Luxembourg, and offered by Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd, a MiCA CASP regulated by CySEC. Bridge Building is a Stripe company.
Three entities, three jobs. The licensed issuer carries the reserve and the redemption obligation. The licensed distributor faces the customer. The brand supplies the app people already opened.
Bridge says it holds CASP and EMI authorisations across all 27 EU member states, and it markets the same stack to other businesses as custom EUR-backed stablecoins purpose-built for your product.
That is the line worth reading twice if you are working on a local currency coin in Asia. The hard licensing does not have to sit with whoever owns the customer.
Revolut says phased testing is open in Denmark, Poland and Portugal, wider availability is expected later this year, and stablecoins tied to other currencies are already in development.

With Revolut's EURR entering the market, there are now 20+ MiCA-compliant euro stablecoins, issued by EMIs and banks alike.
The supply side is no longer a problem. There are more than enough euro stablecoin options and issuers to pick from. What the euro stablecoin market actually needs is more liquidity, integrations, on/off ramps, and real-world utility, especially cross-border. That's where we're focusing on with EURC, and the growth in wallets and business integrations is encouraging and shows the demand is there.
S&P Global projects euro stablecoin supply could reach €1.1T by 2030. More issuers entering is good for the ecosystem and good for the euro's role in digital finance. The key to growth is network effects and scale (easier said than done), including outside the EU (cross-border > domestic euro stablecoin payments in the near future). That's why regulatory alignment and reciprocity between MiCA and other global stablecoin frameworks is a crucial ingredient for euro stablecoin growth.
PS: An interesting side note: the ticker "EURR" is currently used by Maltese issuer StablR which has had both EURR and USDR minting and redemptions suspended for three months following a May cybersecurity incident in which an unauthorised party minted unbacked tokens. StablR has activated its MiCA recovery plan, which is supposed to be a temporary measure --> It's going to be interesting to follow both EURR tokens out there, alongside >20 other euro stables aiming to bring the euro onchain.
