What is the appropriateness assessment?

Before you can access Derivatives on our platform, we are required by regulation to carry out an appropriateness assessment. This is a short set of questions about your education, knowledge and experience with financial products.

This means we do not offer personal investment advice, assess your financial situation or make recommendations based on your goals.What we are required to assess is whether you have sufficient knowledge and experience to understand the risks of complex derivative products, such as X-Perps and Expiry Futures.The assessment is designed to determine whether these products are appropriate for you based on your knowledge and experience.

It means OKX will execute the trades you instruct us to make, but we will not advise you on whether a particular trade or product is right for you. The decision to trade is yours.

You will not be able to access the relevant derivative products on OKX until you complete the required assessment. This is a regulatory requirement and cannot be bypassed.Assessment requirements may vary by product.
