Bitcoin didn’t rally because everyone suddenly turned bullish.
Billions in short positions were forced out, pushing price higher while Open Interest dropped.
That tells a different story: this move was largely mechanical short covering — not fresh, broad-based demand.
Now comes the real test:
Can actual buyers step in and keep $BTC above $77K?
If the next leg comes with rising spot demand and Open Interest, that’s when the move gets interesting.
