Beyond gold and $BTC ,the rest of the tape reacted too. 2Y yield jumped 8bp to 4.31%, Sept hike odds up to 55.7% from ~35% a day prior. Dollar strength case just got stronger. Stocks shrugged it off though. Nasdaq +0.5%, S&P +0.3%. Risk-on equities fine, real assets (gold, BTC) taking the hit instead. Yields up, dollar bid, stocks calm, hard assets pressured. That's the actual split today, not just "hawkish, sell everything."
