$2,460 worth of ETH—will you chase it?
Let's look at the surface first: ETFs are bought every day, but prices just don't rise.
In the past half month, it surged violently from below 2200 to 2566, up 33%, then has been bouncing back and forth between 2440 and 2550, the $100 range. Year-to-date, down 17%, still half of the all-time high of 4946. Institutions are buying frantically, prices are moving sideways. What is this called? It's called accumulation.
First: ETFs have seen net inflows for 11 consecutive days; the last time this happened was before a bull market.
The US spot ETH ETF has seen net inflows for 11 consecutive trading days, with the latest single-day inflow reaching $87.6 million, with BlackRock ETHA carrying the banner alone.
Cumulative net inflows of $13 billion, AUM accounting for 5% of ETH's market cap—this figure is still rising.
The second thing: The Glamsterdam upgrade is coming soon, and institutions are preparing ahead just like last time.
Mainnet launch on September 16—two weeks left. The gas limit was raised from 60 million to 200 million, and ePBS completely separated block proposers from builders. This was the biggest protocol overhaul since The Merge.
Every major ETH upgrade is when institutions frantically stockpile shares.
Glamsterdam upgrade overlays the CLARITY Act (Senate vote in mid-September), with regulatory certainty + technological upgrades as a dual catalyst.
Third: The macro market is suppressing prices to prevent further increases, but the longer they hold back, the higher the price bounces.
The Federal Reserve rate is 3.5%-3.75%, and the market is pricing in the September 16 FOMC meeting to be "maintained," but the probability of a rate hike is not zero.
Key data packed this week: September 1 JOLTS, September 4 nonfarm payrolls, September 11 CPI, September 16 FOMC. As long as the data is hot, the dollar and Treasury yields rise, putting pressure on risk assets.
The bullish and bearish showdowns are up to you
The bulls say:
ETFs have seen net inflows for 11 consecutive days, with institutions continuously accumulating shares
Glamsterdam launched two weeks after the upgrade, one of the biggest catalysts in history
The staking ratio is 32%-34%, with locked supply at a historic high
From 2200 to 2566, the pullback shrinks volume—not selling, but a shakeout
BlackRock and JPMorgan continue to push RWA on-chain, with the narrative never interrupted
Bears say:
Macroeconomic high interest rates of 3.5%-3.75% are suppressing, so the September FOMC may lean hawkish
2566 failed three times, risking a short-term double top
It has dropped 17% year-to-date, and the trend has yet to fully reverse
Trading volume has shrunk, and there is little desire to chase highs
If CPI exceeds expectations, 2400 may not hold
Above: 2485-2500 → 2530-2566→ 2800-3000
Below: 2440-2450→ 2400 → 2320-2360
Operational strategy
Box oscillation:
Light positions near 2460 (don't go all in at once), stop loss below 2400, target halving at 2495-2510, then further reduce at 2535-2560. Near 2530-2566, surge and stagnation can be short-lived, stop loss above 2580, targets 2480 and 2440.
Upward breakout:
On the daily chart, the market closed above 2566 and the 4-hour price does not break below 2530. Chase long, target 2800, and add positions if it tests 2530-2550. Sustained ETF inflows are needed + macro moderation to cooperate.
Downward Breakout:
The daily close falls below 2400, so clear long positions or turn bearish, targeting 2320-2360 and 2200-2300. CPI/FOMC is more likely to trigger a more hawkish move than expected.
Leverage dropped another notch before and after the September 4 nonfarm payrolls, September 11 CPI, and September 16 FOMC. This is not the position of "all-in faith," but a game zone where "institutional buying supports and macro pressure is suppressed."
ETH is now like a spring—
Institutions are desperately accumulating shares at the bottom, while macros are pressing hard above. The tighter the pressure, the higher the bounce.
On the day 2566 breaks out, you'll notice:
It turns out it's not that ETH is bad, it's that you always die in the volatility.
How much does your ETH cost?
At the 2460 level, are you going to chase it?
