On August 31, Strategy disclosed that last week (August 24-30), it spent $369.7 million to acquire 4,603 Bitcoins, with an average price of about $80,318. This was the company's first move in more than two months. Last time increasing holdings? From June 15 to 21, only 520 shares were bought—almost symbolic. Interestingly, just the day before, Michael Saylor posted two words on X: “We‘re Back。” Then on Monday, the paperwork was finalized. 🧊 Let's first review Bitcoin's performance in August. What is the market state in mid to early August? Bitcoin has been repeatedly tugged within a range between $62,000 and $65,000, with volatility dropping to historic lows. On August 14, it hit a monthly low of about $62,570. The market was sluggish, having sidelined for six whole weeks. And then? On August 19, Bitcoin surged over 8% in a single day. Short positions were liquidated $1.44 billion in a single day, with $1.29 billion concentrated within one hour. Total liquidations across the entire market amounted to $3.26 billion. Within three days, BTC surged from around $64,000 to over $77,000. On August 25, Bitcoin officially broke through $80,000, reaching a three-month high. It then surged to $81,473. Throughout August, Bitcoin rose about 25%-30%, marking its best August performance since 2017. It took only six days to go from fear to extreme greed. That's the market—when you don't believe it, it's already gone. Now, let's look at Strategy's operations. Buy from August 24 to 30, average price $80,318. What does this mean? Strategy did not bottom buy within the 64,000 range. They chased after Bitcoin broke through 80,000. This is not left-side bottom-fishing, not regular averaging investment, not "buying more as prices fall." This is an increase in position after trend confirmation. More notably, the buy price for this round is above the company's average holding cost line (about $75,400). Management has a clear margin of safety judgment at the current price level rather than passively executing a regular investment plan. They are not "having to buy"; they are "thinking they should buy." Why now? Note one detail: the funds for this coin purchase came from the MSTR Stock ATM program—during the same period, 4.53 million common shares were sold, raising about $602.8 million. They did not use convertible bond leverage or discount financing through preferred shares. They use common stock. What does this mean? The market gave them a window—MSTR's stock price rebounded with Bitcoin, financing costs were controllable, and they decisively pulled the trigger. Moreover, this $370 million scale is relatively low this year. They are still leaving bullets. In June, Strategy was forced to deviate from its "never sell coins" principle—when Bitcoin fell to $58,500, they cashed out about $544 million in three summer sales to fulfill their financial obligations. They sold at the bottom. Then, on August 21, when Bitcoin surged over 23% in a single day and returned to around $79,000, Strategy's holdings once again overtook their costs. Only then did they dare to turn back and increase their holdings. Even the most determined Bitcoin bulls wait until they have unrealized gains before daring to act. What gives you the right to go all-in at 64,000 yuan? Even Strategy—the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holder, holding 845,000 Bitcoin worth about $65.9 billion—would have to wait until the breakout is confirmed before adding more. That means they believe 80,000 is not the end. But they are also controlling the pace—$370 million, a relatively low level for the year, and ammunition stockpiled. They are not in a hurry. They know what they are waiting for. Strategy is not buying at 64,000 to buy the bottom, but chasing gains at 80,000. This is not chasing highs; it is trend traders pulling the trigger after confirming a breakout. Six circles in a horizontal circle, no one dared to move. After three days of surges, everyone is asking, "Can we still get on board?" The answer is simple: even those who understand Bitcoin best only get in after the car has started. The key is—if the car moves, will you get on or not? $BTC $ETH $SOL #BTC高位震荡, enhanced synergy with gold
