Just now 🇯🇵 Japan's crypto exchange bitFlyer announced a new rule: starting October 15, individual users who have completed KYC for less than 90 days will trigger a 48-hour "Cooldown" after each deposit of Japanese yen.
Within 48 hours, any deposit amount exceeding 100,000 yen cannot have the corresponding crypto assets transferred to external wallets.
Deposits within 100,000 yen are unaffected; trading, holding, receiving coins, and yen deposits and withdrawals continue as usual.
In short, this adds a 48-hour buffer for large fund movements in new accounts, specifically to prevent fraud and induced coin transfers.
Such "cooling-off periods" may become increasingly common in the future.
