The Netherlands has dropped its planned 36% tax on unsold $BTC and crypto gains, reportedly over fears of an investor exodus.
The bill passed the lower house in February 2026, but the Senate withdrew it on Sept. 29.
Self-custody $BTC still pays 36% tax on gains, so the debate may not be fully over.
